Christchurch School students to perform classic Broadway revue
Christchurch School is pleased to announce the upcoming winter musical production scheduled for February 21-22, 2014. The much-anticipated yearly performance will be a classic Broadway revue titled “Rappahannock Rhapsody” and will showcase the music of George and Ira Gershwin.
Under the artistic and general direction of Mark L. Parsons, chair of visual and performing arts at the school, this original compilation will utilize the talents of more than 50 students. Assisting Parsons are CCS faculty members Lexi Byers as creative director, Mike Carey as technical director, and Melissa Bacon as producer.
The production will emulate the supper club floor shows of the 1930s and 40s and feature music and dance numbers by an international cast comprised of seniors Mariah Alderman, Brook Davis, Helen Fu, Betsy Rhoads, Reese Rogers, Ben Roper, Braden Young and Jack Zhu. Junior and sophomore participants include Justina Adarkwah, Cristin Archer, Raquel De Cardenas, Taylor Goodwin, Dokyung Lee, David Treakle, Denier Weech, Chris Yang and Serena Zhang.
