CCS students star in ‘Pippin

The cast, crew and musicians of the Christchurch School Performing Arts Department turned in a riveting and stunning performance of the musical “Pippin” on the weekend of February 23. As one audience member remarked, “I’m so glad I came. The music was beautiful, and I couldn’t stop laughing—the comedic timing was right on.”

The production was led by local students Erin Moon/Assistant Musical Director (Urbanna), Karl Mehler/Pippin (Gloucester), Sam Keesee/King Charlemagne (Hartfield), Betsy Rhoads/Berthe (Deltaville), Reese Rogers/The Leading Player (Reedville), Taylor Goodwin/Lewis (Hartfield) and Mariah Alderman/Katherine (Urbanna), Heath Alderman/State Crew (Urbanna), Parker Byrd/Construction Manager (Gloucester), Brook Davis/Courtier (Deltaville), Katie Peterson/Player (Gloucester), David Treakle/Nobleman (Irvington), and Braden Young/Costume Director (Kilmarnock).

The production of Pippin was directed by Dr. Pam James, Lexi Byers, and Mike Carey, and presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
