Christchurch School Math Department chair Wanda Wallin has been named a recipient of the Virginia Council on Economic Education 2012 Economic Educator Awards Program.
Wallin’s entry, “Outback, Inc.,” was the winner for the K-12 Technology Category. The entry is based on a performance task that Wallin uses with her students in the school’s Finite Math class.
In her formal notification letter to Wallin, the Virginia Council on Economic Education executive director Sarah Hopkins Finley wrote, “I applaud you for your efforts in advancing economics and personal finance. The students of Virginia are the direct beneficiaries of your innovative efforts.”
Wallin will be honored at an awards luncheon at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in December.
She is a graduate of Old Dominion University and has a master’s degree in education from The College of William and Mary. Wallin lives in White Stone.
