Middlesex Elementary School in Locust Hill hosted its fifth annual Career Day on Friday, May 3. Speakers from the community talked to students about their careers. Depending upon students’ grade levels, topics such as safety as well as the importance of academic preparation for entering a career were covered.

Many speakers also brought in materials that they use in their work to help students gain a concrete understanding as to what their careers involve.

In order to help students to see that there are many possibilities for them, a wide variety of careers were represented: airplane mechanic, archaeologist, attorney, auger truck operator, bank service representative, emergency medical technician, electrician, golf professional, lineman, massage therapist, nurse, police officer, pharmacist, recreation (membership and fitness director), relationship banker, solar project manager, and superintendent of schools.

“Students were both excited about and engaged in activities and continued to learn about careers in classroom lessons during May with the school counselor. Middlesex Elementary School again thanks all who helped to make this event a success,” said an event spokesperson.
