Back to school at Christchurch

School is back in session at Christchurch School, and the Seahorses are in their second week of classes. As part of the school’s Great Journeys curriculum, faculty and students meet by grade level each week to work on cross-disciplinary inquiry, to investigate big questions and topics, and to make connections beyond any one classroom. Key competencies which the sophomores will develop throughout the year are: the ability to detect bias and distinguish between reliable an unsound information; ability to explain the impact of a particular place on people and of people on a particular place; providing evidence for impact of economic, social and ecological issues on place; developing corollaries between ideas and texts across different time periods and contexts; and defending solutions using content and ideas from multiple disciplines. Above, 10th-graders take part in the first grade level work period.
