Aylett names fair winners
On May 20, 34 fourth and fifth graders competed for prizes in the Aylett Country Day School Science Fair.
The Aylett gymnasium was lined with tables displaying student displays demonstrating the scientific process. Students were judged in 10 categories, including their hypothesis, research, methods, results and conclusions. Students could also illustrate the process of their experiment with photos, diagrams or other visuals.
“Parents came to Thursday night’s league meeting and were impressed with the students and their projects,” said an school spokesperson. “Everyone learned something, including which popcorn pops the most kernels, which hand soap kills the most bacteria, which fertilizer raises the best crop, and which bait catches the most fish! It was a fun experience for students, teachers and parents.”
