The Aylett Country Day School Alumni Association has completed its first service project for the year, a much-needed new fence separating the early childhood playground from the school parking lot.

Lewis Ball (’91) member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, volunteered to head up the project and, within days of the association’s approval, the materials were donated by Ball Lumber Corporation and the project was under way.

Cammie Osburn Vaughan (’92) then contacted Virginia Fence Company and president Gerry Gravatt, a former patron of the school, offered to donate the labor for the construction. “This is a fine example of how our alumni can turn around fast and get something done when the school needs it,” said Judy Allen, alumni director.
