Artwork of academy students on display

Chesapeake Academy invites the community to view the Student Art Show at The Rappahannock Art League Studio Gallery in Kilmarnock from March 2-20.  All students from preschool through eighth grade have a project on display under the direction and guidance of Chesapeake Academy art teacher, Nancy O’Shaughnessy.

The title of this year’s show is “Art through the Artists’ Eyes—Finding Meaning in Art.”

“The originality and complexity of the projects and the creativity of the students are exceptional,” said Debbie Cook, head of school.

O’Shaughnessy added, “Each class has studied a different artist and have found a meaning of their own in reflecting the style of another artist.”
