‘Archaeology for Kids’ set at Belle Isle

Belle Isle State Park in Lancaster County will hold an “Archaeology for Kids” program on Sunday, October 27, at 2 p.m. Archaeologist Mike Makin will explain the duties of an archaeologist, the difference between fossils and artifacts, and how site work is conducted.

The program will include information found about early Virginia Indians through archaeology. Participants will be able to conduct a mock dig and search for artifacts, and go on a hike to see the landscape. Call 462-5030 for more information.
