Chesapeake Academy in Irvington is delighted to announce that rising seventh-grader Namiyah Navinia Andrews is the recipient of the Chatham Hall Science Award for 2019. This monetary award contributes toward a student tuition for Chatham Hall’s Summer Investigators Camp, an exciting Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) opportunity for middle school girls. Namiyah’s receipt of this award indicates excellence in academics, a love of science, and evident leadership skills.

Chesapeake Academy Head of School Julianne Duvall said, “Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, integrated with the Arts (STEAM) is central to the Chesapeake Academy curriculum, and we have had many opportunities to admire Namiyah Andrews’ critical thinking, creative, and collaborative skills. She will be a valuable team member.” Namiyah Andrews is the daughter of Raquel Hodges Andrews and James Andrews.
