ABE/GED classes offered at Del. Hodges’ Urbanna office
Delegate Keith Hodges (R-98) recently announced that his legislative district office at 230 Virginia Street in Urbanna will host day-time ABE/GED classes.
Middle Peninsula Regional Adult Continuing Education (MP R.A.C.E.) serves the counties of Essex, Gloucester, King and Queen, King William, Mathews, and Middlesex, and the Town of West Point. Adult learners age 18 and above have several options to help them earn high school credentials. Classroom-based Adult Basic Education and GED Prep classes are available in each county to help learners improve academic skills and to prepare for the GED test. A distance-learning class is available for qualified applicants whose schedule do not permit them to attend class.
MP R.A.C.E. is also a licensed External Diploma Program site where qualified adults can complete a portfolio with one-on-one guidance with an assessor to earn a high school diploma.
Middlesex County has two classes. The evening class, held at Middlesex High School, meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The class started on September 11 but students can still register at no cost through October 15.
The day-time class, held at Delegate Hodges’ office in Urbanna, meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-noon. The class started on September 10 but students can still register at no cost through October 15.
Do not delay, register for class today. The registration form is available at http://www.mprace.org (print, complete and mail) or call the regional office at 888-769-1151 to register by phone.
