MES PTO to host ‘Despicable Movie Night’ Jan. 21
The movie “Despicable Me” will be shown. A flyer to purchase tickets will be sent home with students this week. All tickets must be purchased by January 18.

Figg on CNU dean’s list
Ashley M. Figg of Wake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Figg Jr., has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Christopher Newport University with a GPA of 3.88. Congratulations!


Lions Clubs plan music competition for students
The Lions Clubs in the counties of Middlesex, Lancaster and Mathews are seeking gifted young people in music, either vocal or instrumental, who would be interested in winning a musical scholarship. The competition has been scheduled for February 20 at 2 p.m. at Rappahannock Westminster Canterbury.


Christchurch teams finish atop RCC math contests
The contest, organized by RCC mathematics instructor Nicolle Lee, consisted of 20 highly challenging questions testing several branches of mathematics—geometry, algebra and pre-calculus.
