Middlesex students capture art honors
The Tidewater Soil and Water Conservation District recently recognized its local and state poster contest winners. “Soil to Spoon was the conservation topic this year for the poster contest and we received over 30 entries,” said Carl Thiel-Goin, conservation/education specialist for the district.

CBGS-Glenns team is 3rd in math contest
On Friday, November 16, at both Rappahannock Community College campuses, three-student teams from Virginia high schools competed in the annual Team Math Contest. As it did in 2011, the New Kent High School team captured first place.

St. Clare Walker students are 5th in robotics tourney
imageSt. Clare Walker’s FIRST Robotics Club, the Seahawks, attended the Deep Run High School FLL Tournament held on November 10. For their “Senior Solutions” challenge, the SCW students developed the concept of a Universal Remote App to be used by the senior substitutes of our county.
