Chesapeake Academy graduates seven
imageSeven 8th-graders received diplomas on Tuesday, June 4, at the commencement ceremony held at Chesapeake Academy in Irvington. The ceremony was highlighted by a commencement address in the form of personal accolades to graduates from head of school Deborah M. Cook.

Three longtime teachers to retire
The Middlesex County School System has three longtime teachers retiring at the end of the current school year. They are high school English teacher Hugh Scanlan, Title I pre-kindergarten teacher Doris Paige, and Title I kindergarten-grade 2 teacher Lynn Stahling.


St. Margaret’s graduates 28
imageAmong the 28 seniors who graduated from St. Margaret’s School on June 1, seven are students from the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. Next fall, the members of the Class of 2013 will matriculate to a wide variety of colleges and universities across the nation and around the world.


Governor’s School teacher selected for Nautilus program
imageForty-seven educators and students from around the world have been selected from a competitive pool of applicants by the Ocean Exploration Trust (OET) to participate at sea during their 2013 Nautilus Exploration Program.
