MES PTO Creative Expressions is tonight
The event at MES will showcase 10 local artisans, who will share their talents and answer questions from participants. Children will have an opportunity to express their creativity by making some art to take home.

The awards will be considered for students majoring in, or showing a strong desire to major in, a course curriculum related to natural resource conservation and/or environmental studies. All applicants must be residents of Gloucester, Mathews or Middlesex.
02.17.2010‘St. Clare Walker Day’ planned at middle school
A student assembly will be held at 1:45 p.m. for students to hear a presentation by Rashard Wright about the life of the late Mr. St. Clare Walker and the history of African-Americans in education. In addition to the assembly, students in social studies classes will engage in learning activities that further their knowledge of the importance of African-American leaders to this county and nation.

The Middlesex Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (MES PTO) will raffle off an original John Barber pen sketch of a skipjack at Hooper Straight Lighthouse. The sketch is valued at $1,000 and has been framed by Nimcock Gallery of Urbanna.
