Discovery Days planned at Chesapeake Academy
Looking for a creative hands-on experience for your child on a Saturday morning? Chesapeake Academy will host the second of three free “Discovery Days” on Saturday, February 25, as a means to bring early childhood and elementary school families in the community together with enriching age-appropriate activities centered on popular children’s literature or a specific theme.

The Friends of Virginia’s Governor’s Schools (FOVGS) 2012 Capitol Art Show is on display at the General Assembly Building in Richmond through March 16. The FOVGS has promoted the show as a means of exhibiting the artistic talents of all Governor’s School students throughout the state.

Lora Glass has been approved by the Middlesex School Board as the new director of Exceptional Education and Federal Programs for Middlesex County Public Schools. “I am so excited to join the Middlesex School System,” said Glass. “It’s a wonderful district, and we have great opportunities to help kids."

One year ago, Christchurch School students staged a peaceful sit-in to emphasize to school administrators their desire to observe Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday in a meaningful way. The administration listened, and the entire Christchurch community held a day of community service in honor of Dr. King.
