Pretend cafe at CA helps kindergartners learn skills
The “K” Cafe is open for business on the campus of Chesapeake Academy in Irvington! Staffed entirely by five-year olds practicing applying math concepts to real-life situations, the “K” Cafe welcomed its first customers recently—a gaggle of middle school girls.

March was an exhilarating month of math at Middlesex Elementary School (MES). Students participated in many different math activities, such as family math problems, word problem Wednesdays, and “Math Minutes,” which really enhanced the student’s exposure to different types of math.

Rebecca Downs of Deltaville will be among eight Bridgewater College art majors/minors who will exhibit their work in a senior art thesis exhibition on campus April 10-25. A reception for the artists is on Friday, April 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at each exhibition site. The receptions and exhibitions are free and open to the public.
04.04.2012Schools seek $350,000 increase in local funds
The Middlesex County school system will receive from the state and federal government in 2012-13 (FY13), the school board held a public hearing on March 22 on a proposed $13,947,543 budget. The cost of the $3.5 million Syd Thrift Athletic Complex will not be in the school budget; it will be in the county budget as requested by the board of supervisors.
