Governor’s School students earn honors at symposium
imageThe 72nd annual meeting of the Virginia Junior Academy of Sciences was held on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg on May 23. Twenty students from the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School (CBGS) were accepted and attended the three-day research symposium and presented the results of their independent research projects.

Walker on dean’s list; selected for Harvard summer program
imageRebecca Holloman Walker of Deltaville has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Virginia for the spring 2013 semester. Walker, who is a double major in environmental sciences and anthropology, completed the spring semester with a 3.68 GPA.


Pierce to attend JrNYL
imageSara Pierce, a rising 8th-grader at Aylett Country Day School, has been selected along with over 250 other outstanding middle school students from across the United States to participate in the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) this summer in Washington, D.C.


Middle Peninsula RACE: GED test offered June 22
Middle Peninsula RACE will hold GED testing on Saturday, June 22, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Acquinton Elementary School, 18550 King William Road, King William. This will be the last scheduled GED test for MP RACE this school year.
