Christchurch is second in RCC Team Math Contest
This year’s Team Math Contest was held on December 2 at both Rappahannock Community College campuses and included 63 area students. Colonial Beach, Essex, Gloucester, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent and Northumberland high schools, and the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School at Glenns each sent a team of three students.
12.14.2011St. Margaret’s offers day student scholarship
St. Margaret’s School’s admission office is now accepting applications for the Daingerfield Merit Scholarship, a new scholarship that will be awarded this year to two day students applying to 8th through 10th grades. The scholarship will be awarded to the students who show the potential to make the greatest contribution to the school.
12.14.2011Nurses training to care for patients with dementia
As of December 1, 2011, 86 members of the Rappahannock General Hospital nursing staff, roughly 90% of the department, attended a seminar sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association discussing how to care for the hospitalized patient with dementia.
12.14.2011MES students earn academic award
A total of 130 children received the Academic Excellence Award at Middlesex Elementary School in November. Under the new program, the Academic Excellence Award is presented to three students from each of the five kindergarten classes and each of the five first grade classes who showed great academic effort during the entire nine-week grading period.
