Group representing special needs children plans events
The Middle Peninsula Autism Parent Advocacy Group has changed its name to Special Deeds for Special Needs. The next meeting of the group will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, at the Pilot House Restaurant in Topping.

YMCA Bright Beginnings program seeks donations
Fulfilling every child’s dream of having all of the right gear and tools for a successful school year, the Bright Beginnings program provides the basics of back-to-school preparedness for families that simply cannot afford the expense.


School board adopts strategic plan
The Middlesex County School Board has unanimously approved “Navigation 2020,” a school division-wide strategic plan for the next six years (2013-2019). The goal of the plan is that by 2020 all students will be on a path to graduate on time, and be prepared to become productive citizens.


St. Clare Walker Middle School receives national recognition
imageSharing firsthand knowledge of how to create and sustain a successful middle school, St. Clare Walker (SCW) Middle School staff members joined educators from middle schools from across the country that have been nationally recognized as Schools to Watch through the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform.
