Dual-enrollment students excel in marine trades
Several local high school students, dually enrolled in the Rappahannock Community College Marine Trades Program, recently brought home a bronze, a silver, and two gold medals from a state competition sponsored by “SkillsUSA.”

Christchurch School will hold its 88th commencement ceremony this Saturday, May 29, at 10:30 a.m. on the headmaster’s lawn. Headmaster John E. Byers will be the speaker. There are 61 students in the Class of 2010.

In 1972, two Middlesex High School graduates returned home to teach in their native school system. Thirty-eight years later, these two teachers, Sandra (Payne) Walton and Judy (Robins) Bartholomew, who have touched the lives of thousands of local children, will retire in June.

Chesapeake Academy sent a team of three 8th-graders to Kings Dominion’s Math and Science Day in Doswell, last Friday, to compete in the 2010 Roller Coaster Building Contest. Ryan Campbell, Hannah Kellum and Reese Rogers won the middle school division with their homemade “Perilous Pirate Plunge” roller coaster.
