Chesapeake Academy accepting applications
Chesapeake Academy is currently accepting applications for admissions for the 2012-13 school year for students in pre-kindergarten 3-4 through grade 8. Openings are available in selected grade levels. After-school care until 5:30 p.m. is offered for students ages 3 to 14.

County art teacher featured in magazine
A story by local art teacher Elizabeth Blackwell was featured in a recent publication of Arts & Activities Magazine, which serves art educators. Blackwell, the art teacher at St. Clare Walker Middle School, developed a clay project called “Character Bowls” for her sixth-graders. A photo of the student’s creations ran in the magazine with Blackwell’s article.

Area Governor’s School team among bowl finalists
imageStudents from the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School competed at the 15th annual National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) in Baltimore, Md., this past weekend. NOSB is sponsored by the Consortium for Ocean Leadership, representing leading oceanographic institutions, universities and aquaria.
