Students benefit from technological advances
This year the school board bought a share of ownership in HRETA/WHRO public media and, with it, access to countless educational resources costing $2 per student for a total of $2,400. Through WHRO membership, the system has been able to save tens of thousands of dollars.

SCW Robotics team earns 1st place
imageOn November 9, the FIRST Robotics team from St. Clare Walker (SCW) Middle School attended regional competition at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School in Richmond. SCW club members have been preparing for two months and developed an invention, prototype, and programmed a robot to perform specific tasks.

Ware students support young superheroes
imageAt barely 2 years of age, Jacob knows what it’s like to fight. You might even call him a superhero. And now he has a cape to show for it. Jacob, born in Ohio in 2012 with a rare heart disease, has endured three open-heart surgeries and spent nearly a quarter of his life in a hospital.
