Duke named principal of MHS
On April 2, the Middlesex County School Board accepted the resignation of Middlesex High School (MHS) principal Dr. Stephen Castle who announced that he will be leaving at the end of the school year. “Dr. Castle has decided to work closer to home to have more time with his family in the Richmond-metro area,” said school superintendent Dr. James Lane.
04.11.2012Christchurch School’s ‘Walk for Sudan’ fundraiser
On Sunday, April 22, Christchurch School will hold a “Walk for Sudan” fundraiser for Hope for Resurrection School in Sudan. This fun-filled day encompasses a walk, children’s activities, a dunking booth, and a car wash. Registration for the walk will begin at 1 p.m. and the walk will be from 2 to 4 p.m.
04.11.2012Four named to dean’s list at VaTech
Four students from Middlesex County enrolled at Virginia Tech were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must attempt at least 12 credit hours graded on the A-F option and earn a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.
04.11.2012Crittenden Scholarship is offered
Applications are now available for the Matthew S. Crittenden Memorial Scholarship. This year’s recipient will receive a four-year scholarship in the amount of $500 per year. Those students who are currently Middlesex High School seniors, have a 3.0 or better GPA, and have participated in youth or school sports are eligible to apply.
