CCS sophomores test waters
As part of the Great Journeys Curriculum, the entire sophomore class participated in an immersion trip from March 29, 2012 until March 31, 2012. The purpose of this trip was to allow students to study the ecology, economics and equity of the Rappahannock River from the Chesapeake Bay to the headwaters to the Rappahannock in the mountains of Virginia.
04.10.2012Middlesex school officials seek $350,000 increase in local funds
The Middlesex County School Board voted Monday to approve a $13,938,601 school budget for 2012-13 (FY13) that will include a salary step pay increase for teachers in addition to another 1% increase in their base salaries. The step (experience) increase equates to a 1.13% average pay raise for teachers.

The “K” Cafe is open for business on the campus of Chesapeake Academy in Irvington! Staffed entirely by five-year olds practicing applying math concepts to real-life situations, the “K” Cafe welcomed its first customers recently—a gaggle of middle school girls.

March was an exhilarating month of math at Middlesex Elementary School (MES). Students participated in many different math activities, such as family math problems, word problem Wednesdays, and “Math Minutes,” which really enhanced the student’s exposure to different types of math.
