Creekmur and Barnes scholarships awarded
Ruffin Creekmur was a member of the Middlesex High School (MHS) Class of 2009 who was killed in an automobile accident. As part of his family’s honor to him, they gifted money to MHS to be used for a scholarship in his honor and memory.

Special scholarships and awards presented at Aylett graduation
imageThrough the generosity of individual families and area organizations, Aylett Country Day School (ACDS) at Millers Tavern awarded over $7,500 in special scholarships to deserving students, which were presented during the school’s recent graduation ceremony.


Academy teacher to attend institute
Chesapeake Academy has announced that Kimberly Dynia, U.S. history, government and global relations/writing workshop teacher in Chesapeake Academy’s Middle School, has been accepted into the Newseum in Washington D.C.’s coveted teacher institutes for a summer program.


Awards and recognition at Middlesex High graduation
Each year the Middlesex High School (MHS) faculty votes to decide which members of the graduating class will receive the Honor Award and the Citizenship Award.
