MES registering new students
Middlesex Elementary School at Locust Hill will register new students for the upcoming school year by appointment. Items required for registration include the child’s original birth certificate, proof of residence (lease, deed, or mortgage statement and current utility bill), school entrance physical examination, immunization record, and any other pertinent information such as custody papers.

Ware Academy gives back to the community
imageWare Academy students in grades 5 through 7 recently participated in a community service project with the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. Students spent the morning making toys and grain-free biscuits for the animals.


Compass Academy will help students ‘be successful’
Middlesex County School Board members learned from school superintendent Dr. Peter Gretz at its June 11 meeting that the River Counties Community Foundation had awarded the school system $187,000 to create a program named Compass Academy.


Saluda resident graduates from JMU with honors
Kathryn Elizabeth McGee of Saluda graduated Magna Cum Laude, Honors Scholar, Distinction in Honors Interdisciplinary Studies with a degree in biology from James Madison University during commencement exercises May 4, 2018.
