‘Kids First’ students exceed average scores
Lancaster Primary School children who participated in the initial Kids First high quality early preschool class for at-risk 3-year-olds in 2012 have just completed second grade and their test results show that the program works.

CA announces new faculty placements
Chesapeake Academy (CA) has announced additions to its teaching faculty for the 2017-18 school year. “We have been encouraged by the strong response to our positions and are delighted to bring such talented teachers to Chesapeake Academy,” said Chesapeake Academy Head of School Julie Keesee.


Camp Rescue due July 20 at MCVRS in Deltaville
The Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad (MCVRS) of Deltaville will again host an all-day, fun-filled Camp Rescue for area children ages 9-12. Campers will be introduced to the topics of basic CPR, recognition of heart attack and stroke, electrical, fire, water and boating safety, first aid, and drug awareness.


Museum field trip
imageThe annual Middlesex Elementary School first grade field trip to the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park took place on May 30. Students learned about building boats, and explored the nature trails and gardens. On the waterfront, the students learned about oysters, crab shedding and the buyboat “F.D. Crockett.” Above, students study one of the museum’s many exhibits under the direction of Kiwanian Pat Marchant.
