Middlesex High Band has successful year
This year the band program at Middlesex High School has been amazingly successful. During band camp in August, the students began to learn their “Superman” show. During the fall, the marching band went to five competitions where they gathered a total of 19 trophies, securing at least one in each caption, which is a tremendous achievement.

Stewart 5K raises $12,500
imageWare Academy and the Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic held the 2nd Annual Bobby Stewart 5K Walk/Run last Saturday at Williams Wharf in Mathews. The event raised $12,500 with just over 200 participants walking, running, limping, laughing and just having a great time with Sherin Stewart (wife of the late Dr. Stewart) and her girls.


Healthy Kids Day is Saturday at YMCA
The Middlesex Family YMCA will host Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the event, the YMCA will be having numerous booths and activities for youth. Everyone is invited. One does not have to be a member of the YMCA to attend this free event.


Richardson, Parker scholarships offered
Middlesex residents who are graduating or have graduated in past years may make application for the Elliott and Elizabeth Richardson Memorial Scholarship, and/or the Frances R. Parker Memorial Scholarship. These scholarships are available to those who are pursuing a higher education, have exhibited a potential for becoming a self-supporting and productive citizen, and are in need of financial assistance to make this possible.
