Grasses for the Masses
imageAs part of Ware Academy’s marine biology program, 8th-graders chose to mentor 3rd-graders by participating in the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s “Grasses for the Masses.” Both grades have been harvesting the Bay grass wild celery from seed for about 10 weeks now.

School bands perform spring concerts tonight
The bands from St. Clare Walker Middle School and Middlesex High School will perform in the middle school at Locust Hill on Thursday, May 6. Performances will start at 6:30 p.m. The bands will perform selections from their spring competitions as well as pop selections.


St. Clare Walker ‘School to Watch’ celebration
St. Clare Walker Middle School has been designated as a 2010 School to Watch by the Virginia Middle School Association in collaboration with the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform. A celebration will be held in the school auditorium Tuesday, May 11, at 2 p.m. with Congressman Rob Wittman as the keynote speaker.
