Local students graduate Chesapeake Academy
imageSamuel Baker Keesee was awarded the Schroeder Cup, given to the student who has given his or her all to school life–academically, athletically and socially—and also the Salutatorian Award for achieving the second highest academic average in the eighth grade.

MHS senior awarded $2,500 scholarship
imageCandice Riena Owens of Church View, a graduating senior at Middlesex High School who will be attending Longwood University this fall, is the recipient of the Nettie Tucker Yowell Scholarship.


19 Grads from Glenns Campus Governor’s School
imageMembers of the class as a whole have given over 2,800 hours of community service, with three earning Presidential Community Service Awards: two at the Bronze level for 100-249 hours; and one at the Gold level for over 300 hours in one academic year.


Last original RCC faculty member retires
“In the 70s and 80s, this was the best place to be, this side of heaven,” said Rappahannock Community College associate professor Gerald Horner, who retired at the end of the spring semester from a position teaching health, physical education, and recreation.
