MHS band is selling Florida fruit
The Middlesex High School band kicked off its annual fruit sale last week. Band and guard members will continue selling through November 9. This year the band has partnered with Florida Indian River Groves to provide customers with the freshest fruit available.

Students dress wacky for a “furry cause”
imageMiddlesex Elementary School K-Kids, sponsored by co-faculty advisors and principals Mrs. Duke and Mrs. Stamm, asked students to wear a costume or dress wacky for a “furry cause.” Hundreds of food and pet care items were brought in and donated to the Middlesex Animal Shelter and the Gloucester-Mathews-Middlesex Animal Shelter.


CA Inward Bound focuses on vitality
imageWhile heralded as a boat building and racing competition, it could have easily been renamed The Duct Tape Olympics. Challenged to work in their advisory family groups to construct a floatable boat capable of being paddled the length of a swimming pool, Chesapeake Academy Middle School not only succeeded, they thrived, said faculty member Julie Zimmerman.


Powell joins service group in Belize
The College of William and Mary junior and Deltaville native McClain Powell will travel to Bermudian Landing, Belize, as part of an international service team. The team will continue repairs to a local elementary school and lead educational programs for the students at Bermudian Landing.
