Sponsorships needed for festival’s Education Day
imageThe now-familiar "Bea Hayman Clark," Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s educational deadrise, will be in Urbanna Creek later this month. From October 13-23, local students will be joining Captain Sollner and educator Yancey Powell to learn about the Bay and how to help reverse its decline.

MES PTO plans ‘Harvest Hoe Down’
The Middlesex Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will host a “Harvest Hoe Down” on Friday, October 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. at MES. Elementary school families are invited to come out for a night of dancing, great food and lots of family fun. Participants are encouraged to dress in Western attire.


Teens suspected in school bus vandalism
Legal petitions are being sought charging three juveniles with spray painting school buses on August 24, reported Investigator C.B. Sibley of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office.


Bailey named b-ball coach at East Georgia College
