Chesapeake Academy 5th-graders sign honor code
imageChesapeake Academy 5th-graders recently signed the school honor code, an important initiation to middle school. “It helps keep people honest,” noted 6th-grader Hollis Perona, a new student to Chesapeake Academy.

Local Freedoms Foundation chapter formed
A group of interested citizens met at the home of Bill and Bankie Benton on Long Point Lane in Topping on September 22 to form a Freedoms Foundation chapter for this area of Virginia. There was a lengthy discussion concerning the name of the chapter.


‘4-R-Kids’ parents group to meet
“4-R-Kids” is a group of parents in the Middlesex County School District whose children receive special services and/or classroom support. The group meets on the second Thursday of the month.


RCC’s MT program has 100 percent success rate
A dual-enrollment program in the marine trades, offered to area high school students by Rappahannock Community College, has just completed its third year on a high note. “The accomplishments of these students,” said course instructor Rusty Bragg, “are a testimony to their personal drive to succeed.”
