SCW Geography Bee

School budget meetings planned
Middlesex County School board members have agreed to hold community meetings in each district to give citizens an opportunity to discuss concerns over the proposed 2009-10 (FY10) county school budget. The state has informed local school officials that $553,000 in state funds will be cut in FY10.


Pros and cons of 4-day school week discussed
“Due to potential cuts in education funding, many school districts across the nation are considering alternative schedules in order to reduce costs,” said Lane. The four-day school week is being implemented in several states, notably Kentucky and Colorado, he said.

imageIn January 2009, outstanding university students from across the United States took part in a truly American celebration—the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States. Among the scholars participating was Carlo Joseph Sinagra of Locust Hill, a sophomore at Randolph-Macon College and a member of SAE fraternity.
