Field trip on Urbanna Creek
Fourth and fifth grade students in the Middlesex Elementary School gifted program kayaked in Urbanna Creek on April 22. Two guides from Chesapeake Experience led them through the creek, and students identified plant and animal species native to the creek.

Students in Dave Cola’s Contemporary Environmental Issues class at Christchurch School are using the school’s "place" to learn about regional, national and international environmental issues. The course will conclude with a student-directed project that will address social, economic and environmental sustainability issues at Christchurch School.

At Rappahannock Community College’s 38th Commencement ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 10, on the front lawn of the Warsaw Campus, the honor of bearing the college mace in the procession has been awarded to Dr. Karen Newtzie, a professor of speech communications.
