YMCA to help 15 students prepare for school
The YMCA’s Bright Beginnings program, which started 4 years ago, pairs elementary age school children with volunteers; together they shop at the Kilmarnock Wal-Mart for essential clothing such as slacks, skirts, shirts, shoes, socks and jackets.

Immunizations available to school students
The health departments of Three Rivers Health District want area children to start the school year off smoothly and to stay healthy throughout the year. They will offer back-to-school immunization clinics in all counties.


Construction of new science center under way at CCS
imageDesigned by BCWH Architects of Richmond, the completed center will feature a full atrium view of the Rappahannock River; fully-equipped laboratories for the biology, physics, chemistry, environmental and science programs; automated water quality and weather monitoring equipment for real-time data; aquarium and aquaculture tanks; and resources and equipment to allow students and faculty to develop and pursue research interests.


MES begins registration of new students
Middlesex Elementary School is currently registering new students for the upcoming 2009-10 school year. To register a child for school, a parent or guardian will need to bring the following information to the school office:
