Students celebrate Earth Day
imageChesapeake Bay Governor’s School (CBGS) students from the Glenns and Warsaw campuses joined together on April 15 to celebrate Earth Day at Belle Isle State Park in Lancaster County.

Chancellor DuBois to speak at RCC’s 39th commencement
imageSince taking the reins in 2001, Dr. Dubois has led the 23-college system through a period marked by both unprecedented enrollment increases and unprecedented cuts in state operating funds. Under DuBois, the VCCS created and completed its first-ever strategic plan, “Dateline 2009.”


Chesapeake Academy auction tickets on sale
Chesapeake Academy’s annual auction gala will be held on Saturday, May 7, on The Rowe Campus in Irvington. The “Waltz on the Wild Side” auction will begin at 5 p.m. with the silent auction and 10 food stations all prepared by Willaby’s Catering. At 7:30 p.m., the live auction will begin.


MHS auditorium to be named for Betty Chowning
Betty Chowning, a former music teacher at Middlesex High School, will have the high school auditorium named in her honor by the Middlesex County School Board. Mrs. Chowning was a chorus and music teacher in the county school system for 29 years, most of which were at Middlesex High School.
