GED testing offered in February
Middle Peninsula R.A.C.E. will offer GED testing on Tuesday, February 21, and Thursday, February 23, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Acquinton Elementary School in King William. To register, call the R.A.C.E. office at 804-769-1151. The registration deadline is one week prior to the testing date.

MES begins reading project
imageThis February there will be a lot of penguins in Middlesex County. Students, parents, caregivers, and the staff of Middlesex Elementary School will be reading “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” by Richard and Florence Atwater from February 1-29. Every family at MES will receive a copy of Mr. Popper’s Penguins, and every family will read the book at home together in February.


Holland on dean’s list
imageWesley Thomas Holland of Hardyville has been named to the 2011 fall semester Dean’s List of Virginia Tech with a GPA of 3.57 in the College of Engineering. As a general engineering freshman, Holland has been able to declare an early major in aerospace engineering due to his first semester of academic excellence.


Susan Allen named to Dean’s List at Mary Baldwin
Susan Wray Allen, of Topping, was named to the Fall 2011 Dean's List at Mary Baldwin College. She is also enrolled in the Global Honors Scholar program. She is the daughter of Richard and Mary Revere Allen of Topping and a 2011 graduate of Gloucester High School.
