‘Service swells our hearts with joy’
imageThe 89 members of the Middlesex High Class of 2012 graduated Saturday, June 16, during the school’s 63rd commencement. Graduation speaker D. Bowen Richwine Jr. reflected on some of the tragic things he experienced serving in the Middle East with the United States Marine Corps.

Governor’s School at Glenns graduates 15
The Glenns Campus of the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School graduated 15 seniors on May 26. Seven of those seniors received the CBGS Community Service Award for at least 120 hours completed over their three years in the program. One senior, Jerrica Rawls, was awarded her Associate’s Degree from Rappahannock Community College.


Scott to attend leadership training camp
Jaris Scott, son of Garnell and Deborah Scott Sr. and grandson of Theodore and Veolia Scott of Saluda, is a rising junior at Hampton University pursuing a bachelor of science degree in computer information systems.


VCTA and MetroCast award seven scholarships
Seven outstanding area students have been named 2011-12 Virginia’s Future Leaders Scholarship winners by the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association (VCTA), the Donald A. Perry Foundation, and MetroCast.
