Workshop offered for teachers of grades K-8
The VCU Center for Economic Education is offering a workshop for K-8 teachers in this area on Tuesday, July 31, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Rappahannock Community College, Glenns Campus. Space is limited. Registration is going on now.

Queen contestant plans fundraisers for county animal shelter
imageUrbanna Oyster Festival Queen contestant Rachel Crews is raising funds for the Middlesex Animal Shelter, which is at 2840 General Puller Hwy. at Cooks Corner behind the former Rappahannock Elementary School.


Boater safety classes offered
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 62, Deltaville, will offer About Boating Safety classes at the auxiliary Training Center, 83 Ball Park Rd., Deltaville, on Thursdays, July 12 and 19, at 7 p.m.


LeRoy Holt graduates
Randolph-Macon College in Ashland held its commencement ceremony on May 26, and 242 students received degrees including LeRoy Holt of Deltaville, who graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in environmental studies and a minor in political science.
