Adult Literacy group to show film in Middlesex
To bring attention to American Education Week (November 11-17), Adult Literacy on the Middle Peninsula Inc. will show the film “The Pride of Jesse Hallam” at the Deltaville Library on Tuesday, November 13, at 6 p.m., and in the community room at Port Town, Urbanna on Thursday, November 15, at 1 p.m.

MHS places 3rd statewide in ‘Buckle Up’ challenge
Stuarts Draft High School in Augusta County is the statewide winner of the 2012 “Save Your TAIL-Gate, Buckle Up” campaign sponsored by Youth of Virginia Speak Out About Traffic Safety (YOVASO), the Virginia State Police Association and the Allstate Foundation.


CCS math chair honored
imageChristchurch School Math Department chair Wanda Wallin has been named a recipient of the Virginia Council on Economic Education 2012 Economic Educator Awards Program. Wallin’s entry, “Outback, Inc.,” was the winner for the K-12 Technology Category.


GED tests are offered
Middle Peninsula R.A.C.E. will offer GED testing on Tuesday, November 13, and Thursday, November 15, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Acquinton Elementary School, 18550 King William Road, King William. If interested in taking the GED test, call the MP R.A.C.E. office at 804-769-1151 for more information on registration.
