Three area juniors selected to attend Freedoms Foundation Conference
imageMoira Hull and Thomas Hyde of Lancaster High School, along with Jennifer Ratcliffe of Northumberland High, have been selected by the local Mary Ball Washington Chapter of the Freedoms Foundation to attend the March session of the annual 4-day Youth Leadership Conference at Valley Forge.

Water Conservation District offers college scholarships
The Tidewater Soil and Water Conservation District, through the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD), has two scholarship opportunities available.


Ware Academy students are spreading their global wings
The lower school students (grades 3-5) of Ware Academy have been undergoing a project that is bigger than their wings can spread. With the help of the Symbolic Migration project, students in the third, fourth and fifth grades in Mexico and North America will learn more about Monarch butterflies and one another.


‘Discovery Days’ sessions begin Jan. 26

Chesapeake Academy will host three “Discovery Days” this winter as a means to bring early childhood and elementary school families in the community together with enriching age-appropriate activities.
