As part of the initiatives to improve its programs related to bullying, while also addressing concerns regarding fair treatment in the code of conduct, the Middlesex County Public School System will host a session for parents to learn from school administrators about how to support their child when a bullying incident occurs, said assistant superintendent Dr. James Lane.

The Rappahannock In-dustrial (RI) Academy Alumni Association held its annual meeting and banquet recently at Essex Intermediate School. The association celebrates the history and legacy of the RI Academy, a private boarding school for African-Americans that was in operation from 1902 to 1948.
