Students participate in EPA’s 40th anniversary
On Friday, April 23, a group of students and teachers from the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School (CBGS) at Glenns were one of only two schools in the country invited to participate in the “EPA@40” activities on the National Mall in Washington, D.C..

The Middlesex High School Concert Band recently participated in a music festival in Myrtle Beach, S.C., as part of the 2010 Spring Band Trip. Middlesex achieved an “excellent rating” from all judges, challenging much larger schools from Florida, and won first place in the Single A Division.

St. Clare Walker Middle School Concert Band recently performed in the Music Showcase Festival in Williamsburg. Bands from across the East Coast performed for a panel of judges and received a rating of superior, excellent or good. St. Clare Walker received an “excellent” from all judges and a first place in Division A bands.

Fourth and fifth grade students in the Middlesex Elementary School gifted program kayaked in Urbanna Creek on April 22. Two guides from Chesapeake Experience led them through the creek, and students identified plant and animal species native to the creek.
