Lydia Cardinal graduates from UNC with honors
Lydia Cardinal is the daughter of Jennifer & Chad Penley of Huntersville, N.C., granddaughter of Charlotte & John Groves of Wilton Creek in Hartfield, and the great-granddaughter of longtime Deltaville resident, the late Dorothy B. Metzler. In May 2013, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina.

School official addresses topic of education of autistic students
During public comment at a Middlesex County School Board meeting on Monday, May 6, Rev. Tyrone Young, president of the Middlesex Chapter of the NAACP asked school officials to “do whatever they can” to help parents who have children with autism.
