Deltaville’s maritime park fest offers something for everyone
Sometimes called the “Best Little Festival on the Middle Peninsula,” the 9th annual Holly Point Art & Seafood Festival in Deltaville has expanded by adding a wine and cheese court. The main festival will be held Saturday, October 13, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Barnhardt knew Hummel Field was an asset to Middlesex County. And, he speculated that a public event at the airport may be what was needed. It turned out his hunch was right. Since 1996, tens of thousands of people have come to Topping in September for the “Wings & Wheels” festival to reflect on those classic vehicles of their youth while at the same time getting up-close looks at some unusual and classic aircraft.

Mark Boswell is a real maverick. Most weekdays, he’s a salesman for an Ohio-based company covering a region that spans the northeast to southern states. On Sundays he steps into the role of interim preacher at Maple Grove Baptist Church in Foxwells. And in between, he’s an oyster farmer with a start-up business operating as Fleet’s Island Oyster Company.

The Rivah season is not over just because the kids are back in school. The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum and the Tidewater Chapter of Antique and Classic Boat Society for example, will host the ninth annual Reedville Antique and Classic Boat Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 8.
