I love Mathews County. I don’t get over there as often as I would like, even though I live only a short distance away in Middlesex. There are wonderful places to eat. I recently found one of those places in Mathews Court House and I’m here to tell you about Chef Todd’s Family Restaurant so you can find it, too.

Raising Backyard Oysters

On a calm day, even in the middle of summer, you can see clear to the bottom of Little Creek. Aquatic life thrives here. The water is teeming with fish, crabs and shrimp. It’s the way an estuary is supposed to look, thanks in large part to the oyster gardens here.
