Welcome to Saluda
imageSaluda is a crossroads village at the intersection of Business Routes 17 and 33, It was created in the 1850s as an alternative location for the Middlesex County seat, which up to that time had been in Urbanna. Thomas Waring Fauntleroy bought 1,030 acres of land in the area known today as Saluda and built his home, “Oakenham,” in 1837. The old three-story home still stands behind Middlesex High School, which is about a block from the courthouse.
