Labyrinths: Journey for the Soul
imageLabyrinths can be traced to the earliest antiquity—painted on ancient pottery, in woven products, or carved into wood. In the Middle Ages, they became a central feature in many European Roman Catholic churches with many still existing today. The most famous of the remaining labyrinths is at Chartres Cathedral near Paris, France, built around 1200.

Gloucester County Renaissance Fair
imageThe Renaissance sparked the rise of educational and social reforms that ultimately resulted in a better quality of life for mankind. On Saturday and Sunday, July 21-22, the Gloucester County Renaissance Fair will be held on the grounds of historic courthouse circle at Gloucester Court House.

imageIt’s loud, obnoxious, muddy and dusty. But for some reason, we just can’t get enough of it. With names like Footloose, Seldom Seen and All Shook Up blaring over the speaker system you might think you’ve landed yourself at the Kentucky Derby. You’re much closer to home than Louisville though.

Rivah Reading: Libraries offer fun and learning
imageA good book completes a vacation. So, it’s only fitting summertime includes the reading of a pile of good books. While adults enjoy languishing poolside, on the beach or boat with a romance or mystery, children are harder to get to sit still long enough to read, especially while the cool, blue pool water or the lapping waves are calling.
