William Roller

William “Bill” Roller, 68, of Deltaville passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the Hurstbourne Care Center in Louisville, Ky.

He was a sailor, a dad, and he loved  nature.  He proudly served on the USS Daniel Webster and was a veteran of Vietnam with the US Navy. Bill obtained a PhD of Statistics and worked as a professor for Virginia Tech, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, and the  University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick William Roller and Dorothy Plummer Roller.

Left behind to cherish the memories of his rich life are his children, Kathryn Schertz of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Randall Roller of Rineyville, Ky., and Frederick Roller of Radford, Va.  He also has two brothers, Robert and Paul Roller; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

 His funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m., Monday, March 1, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, with private inurnment to occur at a later date. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. prior to his funeral Mass.  If you wish to leave a condolence, please visit
