Mr. Engle was a member of the Wicomico Hunt Club. He was a former commercial fisherman for 10 years. He enjoyed being outdoors and sitting on the back porch. He was the oldest of five brothers, and was considered “an awesome big brother.” He had four loves in his life: his family, the outdoors, the Dallas Cowboys, and sweet tea.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Kathy “Lynn” H. Engle; his son, Bryan Eugene Engle; his two daughters, Jennifer Darlene Engle and Jessica Lynn Engle; two grandchildren, Kloe-Elyzabeth Cunningham and Airen Michael Huskins; father, Richard E. Engle Sr.; mother, Darlene M., and stepfather, George C. Pauls; four brothers, William W. “Wesley” Engle and wife Sondra, Robert E. Engle and wife Tara, Bubby Pauls and wife Jackie, and Chris A. Pauls and Sherry Simpson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service was held Saturday at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, by Pastor Richard Croxton. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Research in “Honor of Rick Engle Jr.,” P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
